Attrition Ride to Miami

Post by Bozo »

A great turn out to Catalano's this morning with a big buzz from the well attended Nannup week end. Talk of another 1250 RT joining the club ranks with someone having cash burning a hole in his pocket. Guy was on edge as his rat bike was in danger of becoming rattier as two motorists were feeler gauge width from knocking it over.

Fifteen headed out on a ride to the Miami Bakehouse in Falcon. The thirteen riders and two pillions included Firey Ross, GS Bill, Ted, Rod Rocket Peter and Julie, Ken and his son, Rainer, Just John, Andrew and Ellie, Beemer Dave, Andrew, Peter Bee and Bozo. A trip up the Darling Scarp to Lesmurdie was followed by a run along Canning Road and Mills Road East before a commute along Tonkin Highway to Rowley Road. The dips at the start of Rowley Road caught a few riders unawares but the pace of housing development was very evident.

By the time we had got to Naval Base we were down to seven. We had the misfortune with our timing of riding to Kwinana Beach to be caught by a slow moving Aurizon Locomotive pushing a single flat top wagon. A quick picture stop at Safety Bay then a run through the traffic to the Miami Bakehouse.

Goldie was ensconced at the bakery and was an enthusiastic contributor to the problems baby boomers are causing in the property market.

Andrew and Ellie headed directly home whilst Rainer, Just John and Peter Bee did the lap around the Peel Inlet. A few emus were spotted at Coolup and then home via Burnside road and the Patterson Corio Hopelands Rapid Kargotich run.

Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail end Charlie. Enjoyed having the enthusiastic Ellie along and brilliant that she made it to Miami. Now to clean the yellow stains from grasshoppers off the riding gear and motorbike.

Thanks Chris. I always enjoy the Estuary run especially in the fine weather we had.
