The Crusty Demons including His Royal Griceness, Nurzo Steve and Jean headed out to apply layers of mud off road whilst 14 riders and a pillion took the black top to Lancelin. Vic, GS Bill, Rod Rocket Peter, Rainer, Just John, Prof Dist, Ray, Andrew + Ellie, Bruce, Multimedia Mark, Ironbark Ian, Ted, Nick and Bozo were the original starters but we were down to 12 by the time we hit Gingers where a riders trousers got caught up in the side stand and he and the bike went over. A short wait to confirm that the fuel leaking from the carby would settle and an adjustment to a mirror and we were off again. A run down Warbrook Road led us to Neaves Road and Old Yanchep Road. The 70km corners near the Yanchep National Park caught one rider out and once he was on the soft shoulder the bike could not be brought under control. Multimedia Mark and Bruce assisted retrieve the bike from the soft sand and again an adjustment to the mirror and all was OK. A misinterpretation of a wave meant that these three riders were separated from the main group.
The group stopped at the Gingin Discovery Centre where Andrew explained its role in identifying gravity waves and how gold is produced in nature. He also spotted the Purple Enamel Orchid (Calendenia Brunonis) amongst the swathe of wildflowers just off the edge of the car park area.

An enjoyable run along Military Road, Cowalla Road, Sappers Road and KW Road got us to a very busy Lancelin where we were reunited with the missing three riders. Fantastic sitting outside at the Tavern enjoying the view and with two members all OK despite injury threatening incidents.
The run home was the reverse of KW, Sappers, Cowalla and Military Roads with the ride ending at Nowergup. Great to have Multimedia Mark and Ironbark Ian join us for the Sunday ride. Thanks to Nick for running as Tail End Charlie on a difficult day.
