On a very special day on our calendar 11/11/1918 the guns fell silent on the battlefields of France as hostilities ceased at the end of WW!.
On the anniversary of that eventful day Thursday the 11th November 2021 I thought would be appropriate to remember the freedom our ancestors so valiantly fought and died for all those years ago by meeting at Mojo's in Mundaring from 0800 hrs. on for a coffee before heading off to a country town the majority choose so we can attend the local War Memorial to honour those who sacrificed so much to give us the freedom we continue to enjoy today!!
I hope to see a good turn out on the day!

Rememberence Day Ride!!
"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Re: Rememberence Day Ride!!
Another good turnout at Mojo's this morning on a sparkling sunny morning!!
Amongst the celebrities to grace us with their presence was Raider making a cameo appearance and Chris Grice alias "The Urban Cowboy".
All the Christopher's in the BMWMCCWA were in attendance with Chris Reid revealing he has purchased a new Ural Sidecar Outfit and will be taking delivery in the middle of next year along with Mr. B Wilson who has also ordered one.
Steve Nurzo should take note as it would be a little more difficult to fall over in one of these, depending of course how you handle them!!
I copped a bit of flak this morning over my top box arrangement but I guess if it created a bit of humour for the group I can live with that!!
While some dispersed to do there own thing, a small select group followed me up to the Lakes, West Talbot Road to Yoirk for a brief stop before heading off to our ultimate destination, The War Memorial in Toodyay.
Timing was tight as the eleventh hour drew closer and what started as a pleasant ride in the countryside via Spencer Brook to Toodyay very soon changed into "The Charge Of The Swamp Brigade!!
Spirited riding ensued as the group thundered onwards on our ever reliable ever trusty steeds!!
It appeared we would make it with minutes to spare before a Red traffic Light on road works delayed us for a few valuable minutes with us pulling up at the Memorial a couple of minutes past the hour!!
However we joined the locals as songs of remembrance were sung as we stood in respectful silence!!
The gesture was appreciated by the locals who invited us to join them for drinks at the local Hotel. however we opted for the Cola Cafe for food, drinks and relaxed conversation!
Wes took the short run home while Brian/5 took over the lead taking us along Coondle West Road onto Julimar into the Chittering Valley were so many deviations were taken we were all slightly disorientated by the time we pulled ay Bullsbrook!!
We said our goodbyes and went our separate ways and it was 1430 by the time I arrived home!!
It was an excellent day out, riding our bikes in good company and I was grateful of the opportunity to be able pay our respects at the Toodyay War Memorial.
Thank you Pete for taking over TEC duties and to Brian/5 for the lead back home!!
