Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Digger would have been impressed with the calibre of "Hard Core" snowflakes who settled on soft cushioned chairs at Mojo's this morning!!

Bwana Noel, His Royal Griceness, Raider, Profoundly Disturbed were amongst some of the legendry stalwarts who joined the flurry of snowflakes for a coffee!!

I would have included Steve Nurzo but he fell off his bike!!

Raider held centre stage for a while with his "Show and Tell", presenting the group with a metal thingmajig which was left lodged on one of his R18 cylinders by a mechanic after having the bike serviced at Auto Classic!!

Scruff is suffering severe withdrawal symptoms as he counts down the MONTHS before his Triple Black RT is delivered on Australian shores while the new owner of his old RS continues to live the dream on a magic machine!!
Thanks mate, I sometimes think of what you are missing but it does not happen much anymore!! :P

Vic was shattered to have to pay over $2.00 a litre for his fuel this morning but then he insists on filling his new 1250 RS with 98 octane!!
It must be nice to be rich 8)

While some of the hard core types decided home was their preferred option, One Urban Cowboy decided to join us on a spirited and excellent ride to Calingiri ably lead by Peter with Nannup Nick, Urban Cowboy, Brian/5 and Swampy in tow while Bozo and John? dropped off as we passed Toodyay.

It was a mixture of pies and pasties on offer at the Calingiri General Store before the group returned home via their own routes.

It was another good ride in cooler weather with some good companions once again!!
What a terrific club to belong to!!

Thanks All

Howdy all,

About that metal "thingmajig" that I found on the cylinder head of the R18 - lodged on top next to the casing...

Turns out it IS a part off the R18!

I took the bike in for a global recall. The "thingmajig" turned out to be part of the right-side rear view mirror securing mechanism - concealed within a beautiful chromed housing. The part, apparently, was prone to a bit of rust. Indeed, keenly observant Bozo noted old and fresh oxidisation - a tiny bit of surface rust. Someone (apparently) complained to BMW and that complaint resulted in the global recall of the "thingmajig". And it somehow ending up as an ornament on the cylinder head...

I have finally made it to two Thursday gatherings at MoJo's. Most enjoyable.

Thank you,

Raider

Crikey Robin, The bike frame looks like a great white has taken a bite out of it

I suppose someone has to ask the question.............Why was the motor stripped down on that bike?

Thanks for the interesting show and tell this morning and it's good to note there was nothing serious amiss with your bike!!

Plus it's pleasing to see you join us on our Thursday meetings!!

There has been a few rusty bits on the R18 now. I recently left a world wide R18 group after being with them since the R18 came out. No major problems with the bike but disappointing little things like the rusty bits. Will be very interested to read Raiders review when he posts it. Seeing the R18 out of its frame has lightened the whole bike by about 240 kilos.
