Paul's new 850 GS

Ten took advantage of the drop in temperature for a southern sojourn to Miami Bakehouse at Falcon. Brian/5, Rod Rocket Peter, Multimedia Mark, Kots, Paul, Ted, Sophie, Frank, Nannup Nick and Bozo had a seamless run up the Lesmurdie hill and via Canning Road and Canning Mills Road to take the Tonkin Highway to connect with Rowley Road and Kwinana. Kots had been involved with getting planning approval for Perth's $600 million plus waste to energy plant and explained that percent for art scheme would have required a large amount of money to be spent on public art. The outcome was that the sculptural form of the chimney would be illuminated as a work of art whilst the plant dealt with 400,000 tonnes of waste and generated 36 Megawatts of power.

A confusing detour to get to Kwinana Beach was followed by the threat of another detour due to a Rockingham Triathalon Club event. A minor problem with jammed throttles was resolved and the group enjoyed the superb range of bakery goods at the Miami Bakery, winner of a gold medal in 2021 for their steak pie. Nannup Nick, Sophie, Frank and Kots took a direct path home whilst the rest of the group did a run around the Peel Inlet and across to Coolup. The cooler weather had lizards on the road and a racehorse goanna was very lucky to avoid being hit by quick reactions of riders on a narrow bridge.
Great day to be out and the group were brilliant at sticking together through traffic, detours and traffic lights.
Thanks to Kots for the heads up on the new waste to energy plant, to Nannup Nick and Paul for acting as tail end Charlie and to the group for good company.
