Cool Running

Post by Bozo »

A solid turn out at Catalano's this morning including SWAB Guy on the phoenix of the Black Bomber rising out of the ashes of a dozen starter motors. Looks exactly like the old Black Bomber, just needs highlighting with some deep red Gascoyne mud.

Seven riders started out on a run to Wandering and Quindanning. Rob, Ted, Nick, Rhonda, Brian/5, Peter Bee and Bozo deviated onto Canning Mills Road to see the fire ground for the bushfire, three weeks ago, at Martin, near Canning Mills. Looks like it was a very hot fire. After a regroup at Canning Dam the mob took the Albany Highway to stop at Threeways where Rob regaled us with rowing stories including a boat running into a building. We had passed multiple motorcycle groups heading to Perth and Police cars monitoring the rate of their progress.

The weather remained in the twenties as we took the backroads to Wandering and Crossman before a slow run through roadworks to Boddington. At a deserted Quindanning Inne, a head popped out the door saying we are open. With a hessian barrier keeping the unvaccinated out Rob was again in full flight with stories of the timber industry. Some range anxiety appeared in the group but despite the worry the group made it safely back to Dwellingup to refuel. A slide down Del Park Road had the ride end at the now warming coastal plain.

Excellent suggestion from Peter Bee to head to Quindanning and take advantage of the sub 30 degree temperatures for most of the day. Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail end Charlie. Hope that Pickering Brook will yield the missing bit to one riders kit.

Thanks Bozo for leading another cool ride. B/5 and I were lucky and found the errant handlebar end weight, but not it’s bolt. That’s OK as the bolt is by far the cheaper to replace. Being TEC was too easy, thanks gang.

Peter

Great news about finding the bar end. Shows the value of a keen eyed tail end Charlie.

Thanks Peter
Rather than calling you the TEC, suggest TEO ( Tail End Observer ) better suits the role.
Other than Tonka trying to lose some weight it was an efficient run averaging 3.5 l/100km
A good choice of destination and route.
Thanks all
