Coat of Arms Ride to Waroona

Post by Bozo »

The Sunday ride group celebrated the reopening of the bridge on Nanga Road at Lane Poole by ripping through the debris strewn roads between Dwellingup and Waroona to queue for pies.

We had been treated to to immaculate 1981 BMW R80 GS, owned by Anthony (not AAA or Shock Jock) as well as the imposing successor to the white whale, Braam's BMW K1600 GT.

Nick, Water Mark, Goldie, Peter Bee and Bozo took the Soldiers Road option to get to Bedfordale Hill before a run up Nettleton Road and Kingsbury Drive. The mob spotted a couple of roos before sighting three emus at Karnet - a coat of arms. Goldie was full of stories about North Dandalup but we finally had to head up the hill, with an ambulance accompaniment, to a packed Dwellingup. Scooting across the bridge at Lane Poole we were relieved it was open albeit with a four tonne limit (if Braam had of come along with a full tank we would have had to stagger the crossing of the group). A lot of detritus on the roads from recent storms and some potholes that surprised us.

The bakery at Waroona had a queue to the door but eventually stories of truck fires, border runs, nullarbor crossings and old club members flowed freely. We split up to return home with Water Mark Peter Bee and Bozo taking the Coronation Road, Dowsett Road, Burnside Road option to get to Pinjarra where Bozo peeled off.

Great weather for a ride on flowing roads and lots of stories. Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail End Charlie.
