On the Ides of January 14 riders headed for a convoluted run to Bakers Hill. Despite a ride of 500 kms to 600kms yesterday a strong group fronted up.
Rob, Rod Rocket Peter, GS Mark, Mutimedia Mark, Wightman, Rainer, Nannup Nick, Sophie, Fiery Ross, Ted, His Royal Griceness, Peter Bee and Bozo took advantage of the cool shaded roads to do a loop through the Bickley Valley before a run past Mundaring Weir then entering Sawyers Valley from the north. At a stop at the Lakes we found out that Nannup Nick was low on oil and Wightman had an oil leak from his head that was misting on to his toe. After a truck was passed and we knew the emus were well away from the road we were able to enjoy a spirited run along Talbot West Road. We took Talbot Road and Cut Hill Road to get to York before a free flowing ride to Bakers Hill via Spencers Brook. Our return to Perth took Oyston, Inkpen, Hawke, Vineyard and Werribee Road. A deviation on Neeham Road gave us the challenging run on Liberton Road to get to Chidlow. The ride finished at Mount Helena.
Thanks to Peter Bee for running a tail end Charlie and to the enthusiastic group for a great day out.
