Poor Precipitation Planning - Participants Pelted

Post by Bozo »

A strange sort of day with rogue clouds randomly dropping rain. 13 riders assembled for the promised clear weather ride when it started pelting down. One rider decided that a warm dry house was a better alternative. Fiery Ross, Wightman, R90S Mark, Multi Misted Macula Mark, Adrian, Steve, Rainer, Nannup Nick, David, DFS, Peter Bee and Bozo had a very wet start as they coursed past the airport. The group deviated to the High Wycombe Rail Station before a run up Gooseberry Hill and on through the Bickley Valley. The excursion off Soldiers Road onto Wymond Road was curtailed by strong restricted access signage necessitating a clumsy U-turn on a narrow, wet road.

The rain followed us as we ascended the scarp at Armadale and only cut out as we turned off towards Jarrahdale. In some sections we were walled in with yellow wattle blossom. The Jarrahdale end of Nettleton Road is still rough due to roadworks but we had a rain free run to Dome Byford.

The weather forecasters in the group consulted their technology and it was agreed that we had a window for a fine run home. No sooner than we had left the cafe the rain started.

Still a good day to be out with a colourful countryside (when you could see through the mist). Thanks to Peter Bee for running as Tail End Charlie and coping with the constant spray.

Always a challenge being semi blind in the wet. Thank you all for good company on a wintery run.

The rain gods are to blame  But surprisingly a good turn up for an interesting ride thanks Bozo.

Sort of a humdrum damp run for dyed-in-the-wool Englishman, DFS. The rain was unable to dampen our spirits
