An enjoyable blast down the verdant scenery of Talbot West Road and Waterhatch Road was followed by turning south onto the York Williams Road. Crossing Westdale Road and the Dale River we hit the Brookton Highway for a jink west to continue. The uncertainty came when we hit the North Wandering Road and turned west to be greeted by gravel. A U turn and then a turn onto the York Williams Road to be greeted by gravel. The confusion was because the York Williams Road becomes the North Wandering Road at Dattening and all we had to do was to continue on towards a 270 degree turn onto the North Bannister Pingelly Road. A confused group stopped at Codjatonine to be reassured that the ride leader knew where he was and that food and drink was less than 50 kilometres away.

Reaching 14 Mile Brook Road we enjoyed the twisties as we headed to Crossman. One of the riders noticed that his rear tyre was deflating and closely watched his tyre pressure monitor read out for the trip to a packed Bannister. Despite the enthusiasm of the group to watch tyre plugging a decision was made to reinflate after sustenance and head straight up the highway home. Fuel prices were a bit disconcerting with only 91 RON and a few chose to push the boat out and run home on a near empty tank.

The largest part of the group headed home via Canning Dam to Pickering Brook where the ride ended. Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail end Charlie and for the patience of the group in participating in the longest Sunday ride before lunch. Thanks also to AAA Anthony in sharing a new bitumen circuit through the Wheatbelt.
