A group of eight riders gathered at Gloria Jeans Ascot for the Thursday ride up to Mojo’s. Peter Bee led the group through Hazelmere, across to Woodbridge. Then up to Koongamia before picking up the customary Helena Valley Clayton Road roundabout for the usual run to Mundaring.

Corrigin, having a café and a location that was just within a comfortable range and one we have not tried was selected as the DDD. The route out was relative direct turning at The Lakes for York. After turning in for an unscheduled comfort stop at Avon Park we lost the last two riders, Chris and PeterB. Someone was not looking in their mirrors that they still had riders following and confirming that they were also turning.

After a delay we carried on at a brisk pace towards Quairading. The lost two were not waiting at the next planned turn at Dankin. This road had a sign indicating that the Old Beverley Road was Open and that the GPS is wrong and it was not the best route East. We decided to take the recommended option and go on for the 7kms to Quairading before turning south towards Corrigin. Shortly after departing we pasted our lost two heading back from Quairading. After a waiting for the two in at the turn in Quairading we continued on. Another wait for the two in Corrigin while had refuelling stop before carrying on the Mallee Tree Café. They eventually joined us finding that there were no problems with the Dangin-Mears Rd.

After a great lunch at the Mallee Tree Café, we headed home going direct down the Brookton Highway. My round-trip distance was 455km.
