With a cool day forecast in the low to mid 20’s it’s a good time to head south.
Leaving Gloria Jeans Ascot at 7:30am to BYFORD Dome for departure shortly after 9:00am DDD

From GJ Ascot small group departed for Byford. On the way we caught up with HRG in Armadale.
Several others had already arrived at the Dome. For the DDD Bozo suggested Wellington Dam however the group accepted Astro offer to lead a ride to Harvey. The ride out was via Serpentine Dam and Nanga. Turning at Yarloop to enter Harvey from the west. Very enjoyable weather and roads so much so I decided to carry on to Wellington Dam leaving the rest to enjoy their lunch.

It was a day of closures.
The usual Byford Dome entrance via George St is now closed due to construction work for the metro rail extension. The car park is now accessed directly off the South Western Hwy. This was the reason Robbie was waving at us on the SWHwy when we arrived from Ascot.
The café at Wellington Dam is closed all day on Thursdays, open on other days.
The bridge at the base of the dame is being demolished and replaced. Access to view the dam murals is only via Falcon Road. Access to Pile road from Wellington Dam Rd is via River Rd which has the turn off 6km back from the Dam café.
A diversion required due to road works on Hopeland Rd between Karnup Road and Henderson Road.
Still a enjoy the days riding the diversions only made it more interesting.
