For Bozo’s Sake - Sunday June 22

Post by pspencer »

With the weather looking a bit miserable numbers were down at both Vic Park locations. With Bozo absent in Melbourne an executive decision was made to head towards The Red Vault Café in Beverley.
Overcast but dry conditions greeted us as 5 intrepid riders followed me out of Vic Park and we headed on the traditional route for our first stop at Mundaring Weir at the Spillway car park for a change. Still no rain but cool at 13 degrees. As rain was forecast for the afternoon we decided to go in a “direct”route to Beverley. So it was Mundaring, GEH, The Lakes down to the Talbots with a slight diversion to York to enjoy the Top Beverley to York Rd with us arriving at the Café at around 11:30 am.
With not many customers we obtained our goodies relatively quickly as we sat on the verandah and chatted. Still no rain and around 15 degrees. Most of the discussion centred on grandfathers war exploits in shocking conditions. We have it so easy today.
The selected route home was Waterhatch, West Talbot with the ride terminating at The Lakes. Thanks to R90s Mark for great TEC action and being clearly visible with his bright orange waterproof pants. Thanks to all for participating.
