Re: Thursday 18th Sept Mojos Mundaring
Only a few turned up at GJ for the ride up to Mojo’s. Initially thoughts were this was due to the forecast with a 25% chance of rain. This assumption proved wrong with the quite a number already waiting at Mojo’s. A fine but cool ride up via John Forrest NP and Parkerville.
The destination accepted was to the Bistro by the Dam, Jarrahdale. The route taken was via Mundaring Weir Road, Paulls Valley, Piesse Brook, Pickering Brook. It was here that that the group got split. This was because the tail end rider followed several that were pulling out of the ride to head home A backtrack did not find the lost riders so we carried on with the planned route. The group was reunited again along Albany Hwy. We went via Churchman Brook Dam with the lost party via Canning Dam. Then through Jarrahdale, Mardella, Keysbrook to head up Kingsbury Drive.
Before Jarrahdale we received our 25% quota of light rain. Then it was sunshine to dry out before our lunch stop. Arriving at the Bistro after 150kms, just before 12:00. In time to get our lunch orders in before the arrival several small loads of tourists. A great warm venue with a good menu selection on offer.
After lunch we broke up with most heading home via Nettleton Road.
Great ride, meal and company, what more can you wish for.
