The Pudding was born in 1977, in the Big Sister Factory in Balmain, Sydney. Sandra and Erik Jansen transported the Pudding from Adelaide to Alvan Street. It resided in the pantry at Alvan Street for several months before Bear took it to the inaugural Border Run, on the weekend of August 6 and 7, 1977. Since then, the Pudding has travelled Australia.
The rules for transporting the Pudding include that it must not be consumed unless it is a survival situation and you have consumed all the fluids in the motorcycle and eaten the tyres.
We decided that it would be appropriate to celebrate the Pudding's 48th birthday by eating a similar pudding at Alvan Street.
