The original post mentioned South rd, this runs between Mungalup Rd and Ferguson Lowden Rd or Wellington Lowden Rd (it seems to have several names, to come this way from Perth get to Gnomesville at the top of the Feruson valley and head south on the Ferguson Lowden Rd at the roundabout, South Rd is about 1k on the left).
You can come along Pile Rd from Perth which changes to Mungalup Rd, this is bitumen ( at this point you will have had a powerline running parallel to the rd) but changes to gravel about 500 m from the turn off to the eastern end of South Rd, turn right on to South Rd, the Arcadia sign is about 3 k from the turnoff.

Come from Collie on Mungalup Rd (gravel), if you hit the bitumen you have gone about 500m to far from the South Rd turnoff on your left

Newmans Rd runs north off South Rd, although there is no Newmans Rd sign, there is a blue "Arcadia Farm" sign and a builder contractors sign instead!
We are the only property on this road, you drive straight in the front gate.

If you go to google earth, type in Newmans Rd, Wellington Forrest WA, Australia, it should take you there.

Although I was really looking forward to this weekend, I have the chance to go to Victoria to do some historic motorsport.

No one else has yet joined the Saturday morning group.

I dont know the dirt all the way down there so please recommend a route. I would like to do Mornington road from Harvey to Worsley / Collie....but maybe on the way back Sunday.

On the way there, maybe head past Armadale on the Albany highway and then on dirt close to Metro rd - name like North east road? to Dwellingup.

I'll do more research.

I am keen to do a few stretches of dirt I don't get out that far often on the bike. So I have a tentative route planned:

* Gravel riders - Head out Albany hwy - bitumen 80 Km
* Road riders head to Dwellingup on bitumen.
* Gravel riders - South on North East rd [gravel] and some other roads to Dwellingup. Road riders...we can meet there for coffee / early lunch?
* Nanga Road and Tallamala? to Harvey. - all bitumen Roadriders can join. Road riders can head straight for the farm from Harvey.
* Gravel riders - Mornington rd [first part bitumen then gravel] to Collie or cut short via Worsley entry rd [Gastaldo rd] to Wellington dam. 2 options from the dam turnoff - bitumen to dam wall, gravel beyond OR River rd gravel west of dam wall twds Honeymoon pool and then Lennards track for the adventurous.

Note: its is gravel beyond the dam wall. Fairly good if I remember - did it in a car some years ago. And I know it is quite a favourite Sunday drive to Gnomesville etc. on a Sunday for locals, so may be OK for road bikes. Bowe will know better.

Trevor, Koos & John, what have you guys done to bring our reputation in disrepute ? Or is the whole story not being told, would love to get to know the whole story and detail.
It looks like I will have to re-arrange my schedule in the future that you can have more moral support at events like this
Perhaps next time we should take some KWV (Koos Wye Voete -not yours Koos) along and see how everyone else holds up.

You know the rule - "what goes on the bus stays on the bus" Not sure that translates well to "bike" as I know of too many occasions when what's on my bike comes tumbling off & it isn't pretty.
