When 3 or more people assemble with a common intent and there is a reasonable fear that they will disturb the peace then they are an unlawful assembly and commit an offence under Section 62 of the Criminal Code.
6 riders and a pillion disturbed the peace by having a common intent to travel to Mundaring via Mundaring Weir on motorcycles with loud exhausts. Bob and his pillion could not stand breaking the law any longer and split at the site of the bushfires at Stoneville. "Gravel Rash" Swampy, HP Noel, Driller Bill, Jon Obama and Bozo headed across to Toodyay Road where a group of 50 motorcyclists had been stopped by the Police (unlawful assembly). Our BMW group took no chances and strung themselves out over a kilometre of road. At Mayo Road the group cut through to Wooroloo then took back roads to Wundowie and Bakers Hill to minimise being challenged by the law.
The obligatory pie was consumed at Bakers Hill when another group of 4 common intent lawbreakers on Harleys offered one of their members to check the fuel level in Bill's tank. Bill was able to do a visual check and "Dipstick" was not required.
A drag race between a Harley and another bike (only 2 people) in Bakers Hill avoided contravening the Criminal Code but might have had problems under the Traffic Act and Anti-Hoon legislation.
Back home via Coates Road, Burma Road, Bailup Road and Chidlow to disassemble in Mundaring.
The Criminal Code could probably be applied to the noisy members of the club at Catalanos that regularly disturb the peace each Sunday morning.
Who knew? Did Bry get a Honda as a loophole for "common intent" with the noisy BMW club members?

Unlawful Assembly Ride to Bakers Hill
Re: Unlawful Assembly Ride to Bakers Hill
So this all means that a few blokes went for a ride ? It all sounds a bit convoluted to me.

Re: Unlawful Assembly Ride to Bakers Hill
We had a very enjoyable ride this morning with Swampy riding about 2ks on ball bearing dirt on part of the ride. Well done Swampy and thanks go to Chris for a great ride. Our thoughts go out to the people who lost their homes in the Parkerville bushfire bush that we rode thru.

Re: Unlawful Assembly Ride to Bakers Hill
A very enjoyable ride this morning very ably led by Bozo again. Terrible devastation in Stoneville from the fires. I am astounded that so many housed were spared seeing as most had trees and bush growing right up to their doorsteps!!
Some people will never learn!!
Once again good company on the ride including Bill on his DR (quasi bmw) 650.
Thanks Chris.
