Jeff, Titanic Paul and Bozo headed out to Quindanning from Catalanos.
Wes and Beemr Dave accompanied the trio through Lesmurdie, Araluen and Canning Dam.
The initial riding was hampered by a cross wind gusting up to 70 kph (as registered on the RT anemometer) with Paul checking his rear tyre for deflation.
At North Dandalup the trio headed to Dwellingup and protected from the wind in amongst the trees the riding conditions were very pleasant. Even the Del Park Road surface was in good condition (no gravel or loose stones).
Dwellingup was full up with Harley riders drinking coffee so we sped (50kph) through town.
Just shy of Boddington we turned onto the Lower Hotham Road...a brilliant road with lots of sweeping bends and no traffic....arriving at Quindanning just before midday.
It was only a few minutes and we were served the steak sandwiches (unlike Swampy...number 41). The Old Quindanning Inne had filled up very quickly with family groups and more motorcycle riders by the time we left at 12:30 pm.
A pleasant ride home through Bannister.
Fantastic riding weather, few insects, temperature in the 20's and good company.

Re: Quindanning Trio
3 Brown bears headed for the hills soon after Bozos departure that is Chris G, Jamie and Bill on their trusty DRS . The trio led by Chis followed him thru numerous dirt roads goat tracks and other diversions thru the bush for about 140 km. we ended up at Mundaring where Jamie's front tyre decided to loose all it's air. He thinks it might have had something to do with hitting a large rock sticking up in the gravel that gave his bike a bit of a shaking at the time and pinching his tube. Anyway he made it to Mundaring and organised the RAC to take his bike home for him.
We all agreed that it was a terrific day.

Re: Quindanning Trio
The Black Bears had a tubeless tyre repair kit, pump, patches, tyre levers....the advantage of panniers.
When you carry all the gear either:
a) nothing goes wrong, or
b) something goes wrong that you don't have the tools/kit for, or
C) no one in the group has the skills to fix it
Glad it worked out well. I hear Gavin had a long trek last year with a tyre problem.

Re: Quindanning Trio
I had a puncture kit
not sure about getting wheel off, taking tyre off , fixing tube and putting it all back together. Missed the tyre changing session at Bully's workshop day which was a pity. Should do the demo again , maybe put that down on the agenda for another time.
Jamie decided to go for Mundaring as we weren't far away so it wasn't a issue this time, but could have been thou we had Chris G in the group who is something of a motorbike McGyver

Re: Quindanning Trio
Sat phone 3 x puncture repair kits two tubes ,one front ,one rear, various pumps ,tow rope enough tools between us to strip a bike, first aid kits ,lots of water and I think even a spot tracker ,and enough know how amongst the three of us to cope in most situations
I had enough air to make it to the gull in mundaring unfortunately the tube would not take air at the servo, feeling lazy and not wanting to ruin my riding buddies afternoon while they may of hung around to help or more likely laughed ,I took the soft option and used my new to me rac cover to organise a tilt tray truck to pick me up,by the time I rang to the time I got home it was just over 1.5 hours
The rac is a great option and in this case got me home with not to much inconvience to all involved ,now I can change the flat tyre at my convenience and leisure
Now where did I put those tyre levers
