BTW I have a request. Can you all fill your bikes, then zero your trips. I would like everyone to record their kays they do when they next fill up, including the litres used to refill, so we can do a shoot out comparison on fuel consumption.

Koos
Thanks for organising a great ride even though it was 310 degrees Kelvin on K Day.
Nice to be invited to share the birthday party
16 starters was impressive and great to see the three 1200RT ex police bikes on a club ride together.
The route covered some excellent motor cycle roads.
Thanks to John for doing Tail End Charlie duty which was a mathematical challenge with all of the separate itinerary riders.

Jeez, Boze, I thought is was hot, but 310
...
So I thought I would bung up some photos, so the stories can flow.....
GUILDERTON FOR COFFEE,
The Red Rocket.....

The Grey Mare....

K1600GTL......I want one....

Swampy reaches for a quiet one....

Where's my bloody cap !....

Swampy and Lefty go for another coffee......

Brian/5..having another coffee....

Mr Plod came too.....

The mother ship....

Don't tell the wife.....

More coffee: as Lefty demonstrates the latest BMW bagpipes...

Another coffee...whilst Swampy puckers up and puts his feet up

The 'K's at Kalamunda

Hurry up Swampy, you've kept me waiting long enough.....

More "K's...

The group

Thanks must go to Koos, for the idea and making it happen, and everyone that turned out on a warm day...

Thanks guys for the ride & Davey for the photos
Jon
For the 304kms the R1200 GS fuel usage was 4.84 l/100km ( 58.3mpg )
I usually expect a bit over 5 l/100km, not having the side panniers probably helped.
How did the K's perform ??

Great Photo's Davey
, I can't hope to compete with them. Maybe you should be sending some of these on to Ross for the magazine and I will gracefully retire
Great run today Koos, Now wait for the "Loonies to respond (Bozo)

"Loonies" ....I think the term is "mad dogs and englishmen".
My fuel consumption was quite high at 5.5 litres per 100km. Typically I get under 5.0 litres per 100km.

But Chris you persisted in wanting to lead the pack today, Were those real sparks coming off your pegs today or an optical illusion created from your years of sceintific engineering or just pure desire for speed and a latent desire of you wanting to be a Queensland Motorcycle Policeman ?Bozo wrote:Swampy

So no wonder your fuel consumption went through the roof

I do think that it was a shame that the siren and flashing lights had to be removed before I got the bike.

Re: K-series 30 Yr Birthday Ride - Flying Bricks & Brickette
Thank you everyone for a great ride and coming out in the hot weather...avid bikers, that's what you are....and great company to boot.
7 K's participated at the start and 6 went all the way....and behaved impeccably, even the "senior" K's.
I hope we still have a few K's in the club at the 40 Yr mark in 2023! Maybe we'll do that run in September 2023. Please get that in the ride calendar.
The Grey Mare deserves some TLC over the coming months. the fairing is a bit loose and various other bits need a bit of scrubbing and rubbing.
What's next...Oil head anniversary? Airheads?

Re: K-series 30 Yr Birthday Ride - Flying Bricks & Brickette
Hey,
thanks guys for a great day out. I've got a real thirst since I got home
and Swamp mentioned something 'bout the colour of his urine earlier..
Chris, I agree with Swamp, that your poor fuel consumption was due to your attempts at out riding Paul all day for the leaders spot...and when are you getting rid of the coat hangers on the "P"..
Shame the "Mother Ship" had a quick lie down at the Lakes, and hope the back gets better, Lefty.
I clocked 336 klms today from Cats to home. Now showing 33,000 klms over the last 2 years this month...
Packing for the OCBR now, as I don't get back 'till late Friday night, then it's a sparrows on Saturday morning...

I join with Dave and hope you recover from your strained back soon Lefty
It didn't appear at first glance that you had any damage to the "Mother Ship". I hope this proves to be correct.
