Swampy 13 to14 bikes wow I better check my planned route and make sure I don’t do a BOZO and lead them all up a bloody dead end!
But really that’s part of the ride and gives something to chat about at the end of the day with an icy cold ale washing down the dust.
So all the fence sitters come on join us with what looks fair weather touring of our great South West.
See you all on Saturday. Be there or be square!!!

Weathers clearing guys and girls but will probably be a bit chilly so pack or wear some thermals for the ride to Nannup and same for the return home on Sunday so be warned!!

Looking forward to a great weekend ride with old and new friends in our great South West!!

See you tomorrow 8)

I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

What can I say?.............Well first off a big thank you to the guys that assembled in North Dandalup yesterday morning to join in what turned out to be a highly successful ride down into the South west in which all enjoyed a great ride experience on some fantastic roads.

Joining the ride were Brian B., Bill C., Peter S., Ross H., Vic, Andrew, Eddy, Nick, Wes and Swampy with condolences to those of you that could not make it for various reasons!!

An excellent route was mapped out by Peter and beemer Dave who unfortunately was attending the Moto GP and missed out on the fun a frivolity and some great roads.

The group made a brief stop in Bridgetown for a quenching ale before Peter led us on a circuitous route into Nannup and the hotel which was quite busy with a large group of aging men and woman who arrived at regular intervals on Mountain Bikes after riding down from Bunbury.

We managed to secure a table for ourselves and apart from our dress and the exception of young Andrew blended in very quickly with the rest of the senior citizens
It wasn't long with the assistance of a few ales and some reds for those of more discerning tastes for the usual tales tall and true to start circulating and the usual good natured ribbing and banter of good mates to ensue!!

It is an old adage but a very apt one in this case that what happens in Nannup will remain in Nannup so all I will say on this matter is that room keys were thrown on the table early in the evening from one person to another and the legend of the "Odd Couple commenced!!

It was decided to visit an alternate venue for our evening meal and Brian B successfully scouted out a fully licensed premises of up market appearance a stones throw down the road.
It must be said that the management of this refined establishment reacted with great restraint and aplomb when 10 unruly, raucous and inebriated patrons barged into this house of fine wine and culinary delights and commandeered a large table among'st some visiting refined persons who perhaps had been looking at a quiet romantic meal before departing to their homes to enjoy some sweet deserts?

More beer, wine and good food was enjoyed around our table interspersed with much laughter and banter and the question was raised about where else would one want to be where you could enjoy the atmosphere and cammaraderie which existed among'st our group at this time? 8)

This club is alive and flourishing with some great characters from all walks of life who have joined together for the love and enjoyment of the BMW brand and as a result of this common interest some great friend ships have been forged so I for one would not change it for quids!!

A great night out was followed by an early start when 8 of the 10 riders took an exhilarating cold run into Balingup and return before tucking into a hearty breakfast on our return.

Brian and Vic took the short route home and Peter then led the remaining group of 8 on the return journey to Perth where at one point when we stopped off road so directions could be checked Wes parked his triple black on top of a bull Ant nest and he was soon treating us to an impromptu jig as he attempted to dislodge a myriad of angry ants that were feasting on his legs and it was noticed with much humour on my part that he was still being savaged by these insects some ks down the road as he continued to slap away at them with one hand as he managed to cling desperately to his bike with the other

Bill nearly got misplaced in Gnomesville where at a brief stop he strolled down among'st them to take some snaps and we briefly lost sight of him!! :P

A quick lunch break saw the group splinter as we made our way home to to the metro area and the end to a fantastic weekend of riding and laughter!!

Once again Thank you guys for sticking with me after my initial screw up over the dates for this event and helping make the weekend the success it was and especially to Peter for making it all come together and his leadership 8)

Swampy thanks for the great report and not mentioning the two or three cock ups I made with the entire entourage having to do U turns to head in the correct direction, are they now called BOZOS? I was enjoying the view too much and not concentrating on the next turn! All part of the fun. Thanks also for organising the trip which to me was a complete success.
Thanks to all the members who attended and made it a memorable experience.
