Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Good to see the current state of the roads in the outback. The lift em foot signs appeared in outback truckers.
I was told to pronounce Mesa to rhyme with racer. My challenge was what was a Butte and what was a Mesa and whether flat topped Butte was tautlogy.

Good evening Bozo,
"LIFT UM FOOT" or "LIFT EM FOOT"? That is the question.
I have seen both spellings. The first sighting was years ago (24 years ago) on a drive into Oak Valley - north of Cook Siding. "Lift em foot" was painted on the proped-up hood of an old FJ Holden. Perhaps that was a nod, a tip of the hat, a wink perhaps, to an Irish link to that community?
If a flat-topped butte is indeed a tautology, which indeed it is, then perhaps a beaut black butte (at) Butte (Montana) is a repetition or a stutter of sorts?
The "mesa rhyming with racer" thing... Is that similar to the "pizza rhyming with water" thing?
I do like riding outback roads. In this case "like" is probably an understatement. Providing rider-viewpoint vision of these rides is intended for others to share the experience. Nevertheless, the vision could indeed be used to get a gauge on the current state of these outback roads; at least until it rains, or road trains cut it up, or a grader grades... etc.

Re: Off-centre Rally - Mount Dare, South Australia
Greetings,
The ride from Curtin Springs to a bush camp between Warburton and Tjukayirla was long and eventful. This is the camp where I got caught down-wind of a fire. For those of you who have wondered about the ride across the Great Central Road from Uluru, past Docker River and into Western Australia, wonder no more…

This clip has extensive and continuous ride section so you can get a feel for the conditions.

Might wait for a bit more of the Great Central Road to be bitumenised.
On time zones, both China and Western Australia each have unofficial time zones....the Central West Time Zone (Cocklebiddy to Eucla to the Trans Railway) and the Uyghurs (pronounced weegers) on Xinjiang time.
Enjoyed the first part of the video...still to get to the fire bit.

Re: Off-centre Rally - Mount Dare, South Australia
Greetings,
The ride from an impromptu bush camp between Warburton and Tjukayirla to another west of Menzies was pretty steady. Sun-up to sun-down on the bike. Caught a glimpse of a white dingo. Was hailed by a vehicle full of blokes that first overtook me at speed and then stopped ahead. Hmmm… I waved as I passed at a good clip. Didn’t stop until I got to the railway crossing south of Malcolm. Then only because there was a STOP sign.
Managed a small camp fire at the end of the day…

Re: Off-centre Rally - Mount Dare, South Australia
Spacey1,
Oh yes, there is also a wrap-up video on the performance of the Suzuki DR 650. As it turns out the DR probably would not have gone another day...
The carburettor was leaking fuel and by the time I got home the engine was cutting out every time I came to a stop. An issue with the the way the needle was seating... The steering head bearings were completely knackered. Felt like I was riding with a flat tyre and / or the steering-lock intermittently coming on.
The bike headed to the Suzuki dealership on the back of an RAC truck from my home to get necessary repairs etc.
That said, it performed extremely well for the duration of the journey. What more can you ask?
I can feel a comparison between the DR650 and the R1200GSA Rallye X coming on... both have 30 litre tanks, both cross continents, both have headlights etc. That would make an interesting video clip!
Cheers,
Raider

Another enjoyable video with recognisable bits of roads. Not sure that you cleared it with the Minister for Local Government when conferring city status on the Shire of Menzies. Good explanation of the upside down pea bush. Can not share your waxing lyrical about a piece of cleared dirt.

Greetings,
The final Off-centre Rally - Mout Dare, vision is up.
Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN2yXmjI54U&t=57s
It has been most enjoyable putting these videos together. Sound has been a bit of an issue but my next effort will hopefully be an improvement. I appreciate the feedback.
