Quite a story about Bully's trip to Rawlinna

See http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthre ... 29&page=23

The sidecar outfit gets damaged and is recovered from Norseman back to Perth. Bully gets on another bike in Perth having repacked his gear and heads to Southern Cross.

Now that is being keen.

.
Ahab has sent a request for help via his Spot Tracker. It seems the Happy Bike is no longer happy.

A retrieval has been organised and deployed, there is no need for additional intervention.

Great to see Mike made it home safely with a little help from Odette, Chris and Mikes son yesterday who helped recover the Infamous TW200 which suffered tyre problems.

It was even better to see Mike and Odette rock up at Cat's this morning on their brand new water cooled blue RT1200 complete with heated seats and only 200ks on the odometer. 8)

Baby Blues pop made a grand entrance to be reunited with his sprog at last. Hope his mother shows up soon or people are going to start talking

Welcome home Mike, I hope you and Odette enjoy many safe and happy journey's on your dream machine.

STOP PRESS: Baby blues mutha is hopefully soon to make an appearance in the shape of Bry's new blue Goldwing F6B.

Bit of a fat bitch !!.........but could have been worse, It could have been a Can Am eh Bry?

But as they say, You can't choose your parents

BMW Club Members continue to drift home from the Desert Raid.

The Sunday Ride Group came across a white booted colleague pushing his heavily laden bike in Mundaring.

We stopped and tried to help by asking obvious questions as to why the bike was failing to run......spark, fuel, compression

A brown wire to the fuel pump was expertly manipulated and the Cross Country roared to life.

Thanks to everyone who acted on me setting off the SPOT Locator yesterday.

The TW200 had issues with the rear wheel which I had tried to fix the previous day.
We had travelled another 100km from the previous day when it packed up again.
I know what caused the issue with the rear wheel so will be fixed soon.

Thanks to Chris R. for coming out to assist Odette with our recovery.

It's great to see so many people acting on the SPOT.

Regards

Ahab

Got home a couple of hours ago, unloaded and washed the F800, pulled the sidecar off the GSX and had the damage inspected by Loose Bruce, repairs get underway Saturday.

Had a great ride with some fantastic people, heard about Mike's demise on Friday night at Rowles Lagoon, the little bike had been going well, we camped with Mike and Chris on Wednesday and Thursday nights after our days riding.

We came back through the Helena and Aurora Ranges, straight through from Davyhurst, the first 40kms were tough going but the next section was good fun pushing the DRZ's and the DR's along with the F800, once you get the tyre pressures right it's a hoot.

Heard that Shane had a big slab ride home from Menzies ???

Yep Bully, slow going = big riding days.

Rode 14hrs on Thursday from Plumridge Lakes to reach Laverton at 9.30pm.

Then left Laverton at 7.00am Fri only to see a puncture near Leonora wipe off 90 mins and later the same tyre damage cause another (terminal) puncture at Sawyers Valley. Needed a trailer rescue by son. Didn't get home until 11.30pm.

Whew! Epic, but still fun.

I'll put up some video of the Plumridge track soon as I get other stuff sorted.

Thanks to Steve, Jamie, Robin and Phil, for the ride and companionship and everyone else on Desert Raid.

I don't think it was the deep sand that Robbo was worried about. He seems to have fitted flotation devices on the sides and at the rear for deep water.

G'Day Slackers...remember me?
Currently at Gascoyne Junction and will visi Kennedy Ranges to look for some roses to smell. Had a big 'off' on the Gary Highway just 20 km in and landed heavily on my right hip. That 'Highway' is just a twin track and goes for 300km. Decided to turn back and head out thru Carnegie and Wiluna. I should be able to walk without a limp in a day or two.
The screen broke into 3 pieces but I repaired it sufficiently to finish the trip.
Will come home via Butchers Track, Murchison, yalgoo and Maroubra Road.
Get back to work (which by the way, is over rated)!!!
