Hello JP
The members decided a couple of months ago, that it is typically too hot in January, and plan to go in early March to coincide with the Albany group.

I phoned Peaceful Bay caravan park this afternoon and made my booking, still plenty of sites available at present - but don't wait too long or you may miss out.
Long weekend of Saturday 2nd, Sunday 3rd and Monday the 4th March - you may have to pay for 3 nights (starting Friday 1st) to guarantee a spot.
As the date gets closer, I will decide whether to travel down on Friday afternoon or head down Saturday morning.

If you are heading down on the March long weekend, don't forget to mention you want to be in the area adjacent to the Albany Vintage and Veteran Club when you book your campsite. In previous years they have booked a whole area at Coalmine Beach, but we need to get our own spot(s) at Peaceful bay.
It is a great spot, I hope to see a crowd of you down there.

Only a few weeks away, time to dust off the tent and sleeping bag for a few nights by the sea, sounds like there will be a good turnout again this year.
Stay tuned for meeting points and departure times, I may head off on Friday 1st early afternoon, Lefty will leave Catalano's 8.30 on Saturday the 2nd. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend and catching up with the Albany crew.

I just called and booked a spot for my tent near the Albany VMCC crew. Fay at the campsite was unaware that BMWMCCWA are coming. She said we need to book ASAP as few spots left (long weekend). If you are going to book a spot, do it now and tell Fay (98408060) you need to be near the Albany VMCC crew.
Cheers

Wait. There's more. Fay from Peaceful bay campsite just called me back. If you are staying less than 3 nights and you only want an unpowered site she will put yopu on an area called the oval. Then youy'll only be charged for the nights you want. I 'm only styaing 1 night. Otherwise you'll be charged for 3 nights minimum. So if staying less than 3 nights say you want the oval for x nights and mention the BMW club.

I won't be attending, heading down on the GS ( with an X ) to have a cleansing ale with Richard Hughes and Ev, may even give the Ural and the R50 a flogging ( if I consume enough cleansing's ), ever seen a photo of a Ural doing toe drags around the streets
got a few others following me ( apparently ), a couple of nights camping and out of phone range sounds good to me, all bitumen, via Great Southern and home via Kulin with an overnight stop in Kalgarin, bit of surfing at the rock, and ride some horses on the Tin Horse highway, water slide in Kulin ( look out for greenpeace ), visit some dead dogs, then home Monday arvo. Bring it on !!
might even get a chance to bring em up to date with a few other planned events
Apparently Loose Bruce and a few of the other Perth based Albany Vintage boys are heading down to Peaceful Bay, better tune the guitar Lefty.

Hi. Wondering what route you are taking. I live in Serpentine and would rather not ride 65+ kms North into town only to turn round and ride out South again. Thinking i could pick you up along the way somewhere maybe?
Cheers

Hello fellow riders
got home a couple of hours ago, after a great couple of days away, lots of good fellowship, stories were plentifull, weather worked out okay, club shelter was put to good use when rain started.
We had a few new members / riders join us on Saturday night, I think they enjoyed the campfire (Trangia) and Lefty provided the entertainment.
It was great to see a few members out and about, making their own way down, some we haven't seen much of lately - all in all a great time was had by all
