Quest for the Quindanning Steak Sandwich

Six riders headed off from Catalanos at 9:00 am to head south - Titanic Paul, Sleepy Paul, Tom the Boxer, Swampy, Phil (and pillion) and Bozo,
The trip to Dwellingup was enjoyable but uneventful. Phil and pillion left the ride at Dwellingup.
A quick blast down the road and we were at the Quindanning Tavern by 11:30 am. Steak sandwiches were the mandatory food order (though I vaguely remember Swampy having something marine). We had just arrived in time as 20 members from the Warnbro Ulysses Club turned up soon after. Titanic Paul was low on fuel so we headed to Williams and had a further stop at Bannister. The trip had got a lot hotter and the roads less twisty.
About 10 kms from the top of the Armadale Hill Titanic Paul stopped to adjust his matt black lid.
Tom the Boxer pulled up as well and noticed a lack of precision in his steering.
All of the remaining mob blasted down the road leaving Tom the Boxer with a flat rear tire.
Bozo pulled up to help and Tom quickly realised that he would have to do the job on his own.
The LT had two options to repair the tyre and two options to inflate the tyre. So despite there being a hole the size of a tyre valve it was glued up in and inflated in half an hour.
The morals of this story:
"make sure the steak goes into your sandwich and not your tyre"
"Bozos are not much help when there is more to do than talk"

We did the Quindanning thing a few weeks ago with a select crew

today we did a run down south via Lake Clifton bakery and home through Australind/Brunswick Junction with lunch in Harvey, 320 kms with enough fuel left to commute to work for the week, couple of 200+ passes

gotta love the new tug, them GS's with an X rock

Great news Guys I just got another speeding fine, $75.00 Nil Demerits, Riding up Del Park Road with the guys looking for a Steak Sanger on the 20th
Just wondering how the rest of you got on as I was hanging back a bit knowing that this particular road is a haven for speed traps
It seems that I get sprung when I ride with the club......................Is there a message there you think
2nd speeding fine in the last couple of months after a clean slate for the last 25 years. Starting to hurt the bank balance....Ouch
Cheers Swampy

My theory is that your GS is so clean and shiny (all that detailing) that the sparkling reflections catch the eye of Mr Plod who then sets you in his sights as all the other dirty GS's slip bye
Perhaps you could contact Midland and offer to pay off your fines detailing the police bike fleet
Just a thought

Up to 9 demerit points for me.....

6 bloody holiday double demerits in the last 6 months.
Can't understand the mentality that is pushing lower speed limits its not speed that causes accidents but lack of attention due to boring low speeds. We are talking sensible speeds and not lack of control speeds
Fuddy duddy boring armchair goody goody types with personality disorders seem to be the driving force along with revenue raising polies behind this movement. Modern vehicles even those driven by the lowest common denominator are capable of being driven at higher speeds as long as the attention factor is kept alert. This is achieved by making driving more challenging and eliminating the boredom factor. There are some polies that agree with this line of thought. Seek them out and encourage them to keep pushing for some sense here and leaving alone those that enjoy driving /riding as driving should be enjoyed.
Now for another glass of red

Sorry to hear about your enforced contribution to road safety particularly as you are very careful with your speed.
Paul and I were at the front but did not see the device.

I'm suprised you blokes didn't get caught out as well Bozo as you were all well ahead of me

Maybe he only just switched it on when I came through
It was a Reverse Angle Camera and was a fair way behind me in a gully as I was going up a hill. The original photo shows me as a distant figure but obviously the Zoom in works extremely well.
My own fault, No one else to blame except myself so no use crying over it. Just dissapointed with myself I guess.
9 kmh over the limit = $75.00
Cheers Swampy

That explains it.
Titanic probably blocked me out.
The zoom would just see Paul's rear tyre obscuring my complete bike.
