National Black Dog One Day Ride

Over 4,000 bikes took part in Black Dog Rides throughout Australia.

The Dardanup ride attracted 617 motorcycles. There were plenty of BMWs including Kim's 1600GT, Wes' GS and my GS.

The ride was well organised with volunteer corner markers. Major traffic intersections were blocked to give the ride right of way.

The ride through the Ferguson Valley to Ludlow then to Donnybrook and Kirup followed by the Kirup-Nannup road was magic with reasonably well behaved riders in staggered indian file strecthing from horizon to horizon and not a car in sight.

The conclusion at the Busselton Jetty was brilliant with a string of motorcycles revving their way from the entry roundabout to the foreshore.

Wes and I came back via Wonnerup, the Tuart Forest, the Capel Donnybrook Road and then back to Perth on main roads from Donnybrook.

620km without much sweat.

An excellent ride and a great event.
