Ride to conquer cancer 2013 October 19-20

Hi all,
it's on again 19-20 October, 2013.

Last year John Wightman and I supported the event as Motor Crew.

This involved traffic control support, cycle groups escort and general welfare stuff.

I personally found the event both humbling and profoundly inspiring, especially to see survivors (recognisable by their special flag) of the dreaded "bic C" putting in amazing efforts to "put something back".

If you would be interested in contributing to this years event, get hold of me for more details.

Check out the website http://pr13.conquercancer.org.au/site/P ... me=13_crew

Come along, ride your bike, have a fun weekend and feel the satisfaction of helping out this great cause, as we all know how this horrible disease can impact on our lives.

I promise you will not regret your time that you donate to this worthy cause.

Yes, I can echo Davey's words, truly a great event and we were treated like lords (even by the HD contingent, which outnumbered us) I should be able to make it again.

Hi All,

If anyone has, or is planning to register for the Motor Crew, can you please let me know?

I will be going along to the briefings as a matter of course, and so if I know who else is joining in, I can simply keep you up to date with any details and save you the hassle of trying to get to the briefings.

FYI, I believe last year they raised somewhere in the region of $4.6M for cancer research, so this is truly a noble cause (and a great weekend to boot).

Sprocket Man ......count me in. supported it last year by attending a dinner and talk at the girls school that raised $25k! The talk was by a game ranger ...from Africa, about the lessons to be learnt from a pride of lions. Was very good.

Thanks Koos.
To my reckoning that makes us four.

Me.

We raised $4.6M last year, so come along and lend a hand to help us fight this awful disease.

Cheers,

On ya Rob.
C'mon fellah's! This is a great opportunity to do what you love doing, and also support this great cause. You will see the extra ordinary efforts being put in, and also be able to identify the cancer survivors amongst the several hundred cycle riders

We are still a bit short for the Sunday. It will mean a sparrows at Pinjarra, but all welcome and the finish at McCullam Park is awesome.
