Bowe and I are leaving on Sun 1 Jun and travelling along Great Central Road to Uluru, then crossing the Simpson Desert from West to East, then on to Coober Pedy and returning along the Anne Beadell Highway through Neale Junction and back to Perth. Bowe’s SPOT link is below if you want to monitor our movements. Watch this space for another Mongrel Dog Production. That is sure to be an epic.

The boys ( Bowe ) were stuck in Alice Springs waiting to fix Bowes leaking fork seal. But underway again

I did wonder, why Bowe's spot tracker had stopped in Alice, that explains it. Looking at the tracker now it looks like they're making good progress in the desert.

Doing this on the phone so it is short.
We are in Coober Pedy and probably heading west mid morning tomorrow after getting some bits and peices.
The trip has been pretty straight forward apart from going to Alice to fix a fork seal (thanks Thorsten for helping out), the GCR was in good shape, right through to Finke really.
Arriving at Mt Dare there was about 40 bikes getting supplies and fuel including Magnus's tour group, the dunes didn't really start until about 50k after Dalhousie Springs, the worst was the middle section to Poepel Corner where the sand was soft and the track cut up which involved some sweat and frustration!
The last section about 100k to Big Red was white pleasant with less frequent but more or less firm dunes, even Big Red the last and highest dune (40m) was not so bad.
Overall in the dunes and elsewhere, I think the trick is a Mike Stothers quip that goes something like "when your in the s..., usually large amounts of throttle does the job!"
The trip Birdsville / Coober Pedy was a breeze on excellent roads.
Now for the Anne Beadell.
