Four riders took advantage of the brilliant weather to weave their way through the verdant valleys of the Darling Scarp to the Ferguson Valley. Wes, Wightman, Bill + Trish and Bozo avoided the plethora of week end cyclists by heading straight down Tonkin Highway to Byford.
Del Park Road, Dwellingup-Pinjarra Road and East Coolup Road were the highlights of the trip to Waroona for the mandatory munch stop for morning tea. Coffee and pies all round with a pedantic pie discussion about the expected diameter of a Great Australian Bite.
At Wokalup the group deviated to the Mornington Mills Road and then took advantage of the recently sealed Martin Road to weave through the scarp to return to the South West Highway near Brunswick Junction. At Burekup there was another deviation to ascend the scarp at Henty Road and then a descent on Pile Road into the Ferguson Valley.
At this point Bozo bailed to return for a key meeting in Perth.
Fantastic Day for a rip through the hills....no cyclists or insects. Good to see Wightman waving the Aussie Flag decorated BMW and for Wes to remove a few more sprues from the new front tyre.
Scarp Zig Zag to the Ferguson Valley
Re: Scarp Zig Zag to the Ferguson Valley
Thanks to Bozo for another enjoyable ride through the countryside on all manner of backtracks without use of gps.Bill, Trish and I went onto Gnomesville, met new BMW motorcycle riders, continued to Lowden, Donnybrook and then back home to Perth.Sprues nearly completely gone, 510kms for the day.
