Through the Urban Sprawl to South Geraldton

Post by Bozo »

The surprise of clear skies and the need for Intrepid Ken to get a dose of WA coastline had 8 riders threading their way through housing developments from Burns Beach to Two Rocks.

Kim, Bill, Intrepid Ken, GS Bill + Trish, Dinga, Bozo, Jack and Alan cut a swathe along the coast and on to a sleepy Guilderton. A mandatory stop at the lookout where observant riders noted the bar was open followed by a visit to the Guilderton General Store for nourishment.

Bozo bailed to head to Perth for a flying visit to the Airport whilst Bill took over to guide the group home.

A real bonus to get another great day for a ride.

Thanks to Bill for leading the group back to Perth.

My lead was Shanghaied by Kim. We agreed back at Moore river that we would go home via Bindoon-Chittering so that Intrepid Ken could reminisce with his previous life as a BMWMCCWA member and remember some of the better near Perth rides that he used to venture on I was leading the group out of Moore river and made a wrong turn and when I got back on track found Kim leading the ride. Thinking no problems Kim knows the way I stayed back as tail end charley. Kim seemed to be heading in the right direction until we passed the turn-off to Gingin and he kept going South along the Brand Hwy. I thought that he may know another route to Bindoon so followed the group with the K1600 LT proceeding South at a great rate of knots. Passing another turn-off sign that indicated it was the way to Bindoon I started to think the lead rider wasn't going to be taking us on the planed route. Being almost at Muchea by this stage I then gave up the idea of a scenic Bindoon/Chitering valley ride and headed home via Gnangara Rd. Ken and myself left the lead group whom proceeded to cross the GN Hwy and head for the hills at Muchea.
Bozo this rebellion wouldn't have occurred under your watch, but Ken indicated that he enjoyed the ride and said it was great catching up with people and commented what a great club we have here.
