Christmas giving normally commences with a Partridge in a Pear tree but both Bill and Bill opted for a box of Pears for their pillions.
The Sunday ride attracted six riders and eight participants ...Wes, Wightman, Kim, Bill + Doris, Bill + Trish and Bozo.
First stop was a packing shed in Carmel with excellent produce. Bill and Trish filled the GS with apricots, nectarines and pears whilst Bill and Doris could only manage a tray of Pears in case the extra weight blew the rear tyre again.
The Bickley Valley was traversed via Patterson Road, Walnut Road and Aldersyde Road to get to Mundaring Weir Road...plenty of cyclists but the overwhelming majority where going in the opposite direction. The group passed through Mundaring, Sawyers Valley and the Lakes before turning in Yarra Road/Talbot West Road. A sign foreshadowed that the road would be closed in February for a bridge repair. The group then turned into Talbot Road until they reached Cut Hill Road to link with the Great Southern Highway and travel to York.
Heading down the quiet main street of York the group followed Spencers Brook Road to Trimmer Road and took the Great Eastern Highway to Bakers Hill. Pies and coffee were consumed as required by the club tradition although there was a suggestion that mince pies would be appropriate on the last run before Christmas. Some riders said that they had participated as a break from organising Christmas and would prefer if there were no references to Christmas in the discussion. Purchase of country estates was a safer topic before the group commence the return leg to Perth.
Great weather for a ride although it warmed up noticeably as we hit the outskirts of Perth.
On my rough count this makes 35 Bozo led rides in 2015.....possibly we could squeeze a short ride in on the 27th if Cats/Dome is open.

Well Done Bozo and Thank You for your valiant efforts over the last 12 months, I know there are plenty of other Club Members that share my sentiments
I suppose you will be busy now the rest of this week being Santa at Myers??

I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
