Initially six riders set off for a promised ride to Dwellingup but got captured by the cool ambience of the Millbrook Winery.
Wes, German Paul, Bill + Trish, Kim + Andrea, Ralph and Bozo travelled the shaded roads through the Perth Hills past Canning Dam and on to the Albany Highway before turning off on Jarrahdale Road. The temperature had climbed rapidly and with the high humidity a decision was made to divert to the Millbrook Winery.
Coffee and freshly cooked brownies were quaffed, interspersed with conversation ranging from Whim Creek, the Nullarbor, hip replacements, European travel and bushfires, by the lake on a shady deck.
The group then rode down the Darling Scarp on Nettleton Road (resurfaced but not a lot of loose stone) and home.

Whim Creek?
Mmmm - what was that about? A ride? Pub re-opening? (not that the two ?'s are necessarily connected

I would have fit right in with old timers yarning... I lived in Karratha for 10 years. Pilbara is God's country... I'm biased of course.
Have been following the changes at Whim Creek for a few years now... was hoping the conversation was about incorporating a visit (and obligatory beer) with ride up north. Oh well.
