After being regaled with extracts of the "Rain and Ridicule" ride to Paynes Find a small group left Dome for a circuitous conga ride to Gidgegannup.
German Paul, Wightman, Kim, Drew and Bozo headed through the Bickley Valley, Mundaring Weir and Parkerville to eventually meet up with Toodyay Road on Roland Road. Heading down Red Hill the group (now less German Paul) meandered along Campersic Road to a brief break at the lookout just past the Orlov Horse Trail. The recent rains had an impressive waterfall flowing but the conversation ignored the scenic beauty and was mainly about knee reconstructions.
After experiencing excessive G Forces in the Lancewood Woops the group twisted its way through O'Brien Road. There were several places with large sheets of gravel washed over the road and lots of debris from the storm making cornering, braking and acceleration interesting. No emus were spotted which was not unexpected as the attractant of Baby Blue was absent. Berry Road had been resurfaced and had loose stones encouraging the group to spread but after a trip down Reserve Road all made it to the Gidgie Bakery. Wightman had an RS screen on the back of his airhead. The function of the superfluous piece of Perspex perplexed his riding companions.
Pies and hot coffee were a popular order on the cold and windy day and were consumed during a discussion peppered with references to bike collections.
Back to Mundaring via Bunning and Alice Roads before a reverse run of Mundaring Weir Road.
The group proved it was possible to enjoy Easter motorcycle riding without camping, gravel or heavy rain.
