ANZAC ride to Hopetoun & Esperance

Not long to go now, 23rd, 24th & 25th April.

I am planning to take secondary roads to Ravensthorpe, scenic drive through Fitzgerald National park, over Mount Barren and into Hopetoun for Saturday night, stay at beach house - sleeping bags required, bring a mattress if you have room. Dinner at the pub, which is a short walk away.

Sunday leisurely trip along the coastal lookouts, slip along the highway and into Esperance around lunchtime, sight seeing. Set camp at my sisters house, sleeping bag & mattress required.

Monday head home via Cascades, Lake King on dirt, secondary roads back to Brookton, before slipping back into the city.

Roads will be a mixture of black top and dirt, if it rains - We will revise route.

If we have a large turn out, we may need a few people to bring tents. Both houses have several spare beds - throw down your sleeping bag and set for the night.

Let me know if you intend coming and we will coordinate meeting points closer to the day.

I'd like to tag along...I haven't spent a lot of time down that neck of the woods. This could be a good shakedown ride for some bigger trips later in the year.

Less than 2 weeks to go, numbers are looking good, 9 confirmed plus a few question marks

Meeting point will be Gull Karragullen, corner of Canning road and Brookton highway, Karragullen at 8am for a 8.15 departure on Saturday 23rd April.

Pub for dinner Saturday night, barbecue on Sunday night.
