The annual motorcycle festival is being held at York this Sunday.
They close the main street and the town is normally packed out with motorcycles.
The Sunday Bozo ride is planned to be:
Leave Catalano's at 8:45 am
Orrong Road, Welshpool Road, Glen Isla Road, Mundaring Weir Road, Great Eastern Highway, Lakes, Great Southern Highway, Yarra Road, Talbot West Road, Beverley, Top Beverley York Road to York.
I plan to stay about 45 minutes and then head home via Spencers Brook.

A cold and wintry day saw a small turnout at Catalano's. Good to see Patrick back on a bike and Swampy just back.
Seven riders left for a circuitous ride to the York Motorcycle Festival. Bozo, Ariel, Robbie, Yammie John, Bill + Trish, Patrick + and Drew travelled via Glen Isla Road through the Bickley Valley, Mundaring Weir Road and Great Eastern Highway to the Lakes.
The Bickley Valley was misty and green. The Bickley TV Tower base and tip were visible but the middle obscured by low cloud.
It rained once we hit Mundaring Weir Road but there was very little traffic around. We passed an angle parked sedan near the Mundaring Weir that was 45 degrees to the road (both vertically and laterally) with one of those reported stickers.
The journey to the Lakes was made more interesting by 8 Bandidos filtering through the group and the Lakes being fenced off for upgrading. The speed limits had also changed on the Great Southern Highway but these were not relevant to 3 of the Bandidos that missed the turn and again had to filter through the group. The Motorcycle Festival had an impact on one returning rider who was doing 100 kmh monos on a wet road.
We turned off onto Yarra Road to reach Talbot West Road. Not too far along an Eagle was feasting on Richmond road kill and 30 emus were feeding in an adjoining paddock. The new Café at Qualen West Road was quiet so we rode on to Beverley. Ariel had a spot of trouble and had to remove a dangling light.
The Top Beverley Road took us into York to be greeted by over 1,000 motorcycles, two of which were doing 15 metre high jumps and somersaults. Kim and Andrea and BJ and partner were spotted in the crowded streets.
Thanks to Patrick for running a very effective Tail End Charlie role and for the group for sticking together so well.
Rain, gum nuts and twisty corners made the ride interesting but rain has also been greening up the country and grounding flying insects.
Good to get out and great to see so many bikes in York.

Thanks once again Bozo for leading us through some magnificent routes. I reckon you're the king of back roads with (minor) hoon tendencies when appropriate.
I managed to get hold of a motorbike wrecker in Melbourne who's sending me a complete spotlight to replace the failed glue gaffa job. Hopefully the new light and spotlight protectors arrive at the same time!

Having slept in I missed attending Cats yesterday. I did have plans to travel through the bush from Pickering Brook to York and had arranged to meet some other BMW GS riders [prospective members] at Crystal Brook BP.
My riding partners were also running late and I was enjoying a coffee at the servo when a stream of gleaming GS’s whizzed past. None noticed me, which is a good thing, meaning that they had their eyes on the road.
My riding partners soon appeared and we had a great ride through the bush following Canning Rd, Pickering Brook, Weston, Mt Dale, Mt Dale, Old Mt Dale, Beraking Pool, Darkin, Warringal, Catchment, West Talbot, Luelf Rd and Knotts Rd into York arriving around 12 PM.
Didn't see an other club members wandering around in the brief time we were there.
The riders back where reduced to Steve and me and picked up the dirt about 10 km’s outside York along Helena Rd through to West Talbot where we joined the bitumen to slab it home.
A very pleasant day out and never got wet…..not even a drizzle. The bush is looking splendid and no dust and not many puddles around yet.

Where is this café and intersection you speak of? Can someone send me a pin / coords. Are they open on Sundays?
Thank you.

Koos
It is on the intersection of Qualen West Road and Talbot West Road.
Its facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/wwwpetteetpark ... 8/?fref=nf says it is open on weekends.
