Wildflower Alert... Wildflowers are prolific on the Southern boundary of the station. Try and get here within the next month to observe and enjoy this extra special wildflower display

The committee has indicated that this would be a great club ride and camping trip for those members that enjoy the challenge of outback unsealed roads and a camping experience, probably over a 3 day weekend.
Given the announcement that they are having a bumper wildflower season up there which is probably only available for a limited window of time members interested in going should think about this ride.
I propose that this be held alongside the Gascoyne Races ride with the group riding on mass to the Wooleen-Twin Peaks Rd with the Wooleen participants branching off with the Gascoyne group continuing along the Mullewa Canarvon Rd.
This would provide riders that have previously been and done the Races and aren't that interested in attending this venue again, an alternative new ride.
As the departure date is fast approaching (18th Aug) if this is of interest please indicate your interest. We have to book campsites if we want to stay and camp for a few nights and will need to get onto it.

The station has river camp-sites available at this stage for those dates:

These sites are filling fast and will cope with X6 people.
Anyone interested?

Hi Bill

An alternative would be to depart Perth with the Gascoyne riders. Peel off to Wooleen for one night then make your way to Gascoyne and on to the Kennedy ranges. Then back stopping at Gabyon Station for a night before returning to Perth.
That would be
Depart Gingers early say 7:30 am Thursday 18th
Night 1 at Wooleen Station
Day two Friday - late start and easy ride up to Gascoyne
Night 2 either at The Junction, or at the Kennedy's according to your preference.
Day 3 Saturday head South to Gabyon station and spend the night in their Shearers Quarters $30 a night for a good room, and hot Shower. Dinners at the Homestead for $25.
Day 4 Sunday either explore the station and surrounding roads - nice rides to Chinaman Rock, Walga Rock and Big Bell townsite ruins, or those needing to be home Sunday head for Perth.
Night 4 one more night at Gabyon - you can camp if you prefer.
Day 5 (Monday) head home arrive late afternoon.

I would be keen on the above itinerary and happy to lead riders to Wooleen and Gabyon.

Cheers
JonO

The plan at this stage. Leave Friday 19th head to Mullewa head up the Mullewa Canarvan Road camp at Murchison Roadhouse Friday night. Head for Wooleen Station Sat morning have a look around, head off To Gabyon Station and camp overnight at the station. Leave Sunday head back to Perth via Coalseam.
This is a 3 day trip for those not wanting to go to Gascoyne or further up.
Anyone interested in tagging along let me know. Wil probably leave at 8am Friday

Hi Bill,

I have been following your thread and I am definitely keen to go, but I can only get a few days off in September sometime. Is that a possibility for you? Perhaps we could do some sort of round trip and the Murchison may have dried out a little?

Cheers

Patrick

Having a day off from work, Doris and myself decided we would do the trip in our ute. Doris was quite keen to see the wild flowers and we did the Coalseam Park and checked out Wreath flowers near Pinder out from Mullewa where we are shacked up in the Railway hotel

Nice one, Bill

This year's Gascoyne races is promising to be a humdinger this year. Our Club is liberally represented by about 6 blokes. It is 24 degrees, clear sky with a faint breeze. There are a few flies..................
