Devouring the Dorper

The Sunday ride group moved along the paddock to plate continuum after last week seeing a couple of Dorper Sheep in York to devouring dorper sheep pies in Toodyay.
The crew at Catalanos included Karl, Drew on his 1200 "C" back for his first ride since his front end modifications, Wes showing anyone who was vaguely interested Perth's best used car buy, Ross recovering from paramedic duties, Jamie with his bespoke exhaust and Sleepy Paul setting up a trip to a very good beach near Albany.
Seven riders paid scant regard for the climbing temperature and ported themselves to the Swan Valley. BillB, GS Bill and Trish, German Paul, Mackerel Eddy, Swampy, Chris G and Bozo skirted the foot of the scarp along Campersic Road before the Lancewood link (complete with an emu for Swampy) took the group to O'Brien Road. Clenton Road past the Brock memorial and then Berry Road to Reserve Road before arriving in Gidgegannup.
A quick transit up Toodyay Road had us parking opposite the Toodyay Bakery and ascending the stairs with our chosen pastries. Two riders were happy to choose the dorper pies despite our acquaintance with two members of the breed in York the week before. A pleasant sojourn on the balcony was followed by Toodyay Road - Mayo Road - Breeze Road - Lilydale Road before ending the ride at the Chidlow Tavern. Very little traffic until after Chidlow.
The temperature touched 35.5 degrees but unlike the BMW Safari no tyres were melted, no tyres were changed out and all suspensions survived...only the dorper sheep were impacted.
Thanks to Swampy for tail end Harry duties.
