On Saturday the 18th of March the club has been invited to ride out to the MT Marshall District Ag show which is being held in Bencubbin. The Ag society Pres Nick G a BMW rider himself, has invited us to attend and offered overnight camping at the sports ground. There is also some nice cabin accomodation available at reasonable rates, perhaps a good option if you want to head there 2up.
There is the usual show actvity including working dog trials, scarecrow building competitions, food stalls etc, and that evening a band and fireworks display. The cafe will be open Sunday morning for breakfast before we head home.
I'm hoping to get a good turn out for this overnighter to support our country friends and thank Nick for his hospitality. Bozo if you are able to come perhaps you could apply your expertise to an interesting ride route there. There's even accomodation to suit you're preferences
Put your name down if you're coming and I will get back to you with details. Departure point and time will be posted here and on the FB Group Page soon.
In the mean time check out the MtMarshall Ag show FB page for info on what will be happening there.

Thanks to those who've indicated they are coming. As mentioned there is free camping available and if you prefer a room you can book a cabin at the caravan park $99 per night, call the shire on 96851202 to book.
I will post up the meeting point time and ride plan soon. I'm think a relaxed start (not crack of dawn) and arrival at Bencubbin mid day. Have a look around, set up,camp, dinner, drinks band etc. Breakfast at the local cafe on Sunday and a ride back perhaps meeting up with the Cats crowd coming the other way?
If anyone else is coming please put your name down or send me a message

I'm planning to go via dirt roads where possible, anyone who's interested is welcome to tag along, still busy working on the best route, out of interest has anyone been around "Lake Wallambin" south of Koorda.
I'm thinking of going on the south side of the lake then north on the east side but the road seems to go through the lake ( i'm guessing salt lake) just wondered if it's passable?
Robbo.

Robbo: What a stroke of luck. My best mate is Les McTaggart bout 15 kms west of Koorda(Farm:duckinwarrin). his Mum was a Hogan so thats at least 50% of the district hes related to.

Theyve been out there since shortly after 1918. He's got a few hundred acres of that salt lake to call his own. I'll give him a call. Give me a coupla days, got a feeling he'll be on the spray boom right now.

Well done Robbo so it looks like there will be a bitumen and a Dirt option to get to Bencubbin. Can you post the rendezvous and time for your Dirt excursion or if you prefer get folk to PM you - note to the unprepared this option is not a learners ride
The Bitumen ride group will rendezvous at the Woolworths Servo on Wanneroo Road, its the one on the west side of the road as you approach Hepburn avenue travelling North. ie just before the Kingsway shopping centre
Meet there from 8:30am for departure by 9am sharp Sat 18th March
