Following in the wheeltracks of previous legends, an intrepid group, consisting of yours truly (mostly on a GS650) and Carl (video cam man) also on a GS650. We did the track from N to S with a pleasant night spent at the breakaways, the night before, under the expert tutelage of Dinga and Bob

What an adventure!
Could you have possibly got a larger tank bag on the Suzuki or just fitted a bigger fuel tank and placed your swag on the back?
I understand the context of another recent story about the track involving a larger BMW.

Now that we nailed the beast under adverse conditions, I'm keen to take a "big bike" tour up there. With bark busters and the right tyres, its a cinch if you are not in a rush. The one bike had a 34 l tank and he rode the entire 500kms round trip, effortlessly, even doling out a couple of litres to blokes who ran low.
