A Winter's day and half went astray

A small roll up for Sunday coffee today. Good to see Noel's Tanami HP2 in good nick and a slew of airheads. The talk on drive shafts has tapered off to swing bearings.
Dinga, Jack, Peter, Trevor, Wes, Gerry, his royal Griceness and Bozo started out as a compact group with HRG as tail end Charlie.
The normal egress around the back of the airport was varied with a deviation up Bushmead Road to Scott Road and the Great Eastern Highway. Turning into Sir John Forrest National Park it became very clear why this was not a regular ride route with a very bumpy surface at just the wrong pitch for BMW suspensions. An unscheduled return to Great Eastern Highway and Jack without Jill rolled down the hill as we headed to Parkerville. A regather in Gidgiegannup and then a slow trip through roadworks to Bailup Road. Gerry and HRG turned into Berry road reducing the group to five. Zigging to Woorooloo we turned off at Clackline to zag on the Toodyay-Clackline Road before a sojourn at the Toodyay Bakery.
Starting on the Toodyay-Northam Road we turned off on the scenic drive that starts at Katrine Bridge to pass the dead centre of Northam. Parading down the main street past the closed bridge we travelled through West Northam to Spencers Brook and back to Clackline before a quick trip back to Mundaring. A head count at Mundaring and the where's Wes query was answered by Dinga who had seen him turn off for fuel.
Of the eight who started four made it to Mundaring. Thanks to HRG for being the part time tail end Charlie before being called away for vice-regal duties.
A cool ride but no rain.
Bozo
