Overnight run to Nannup?
Hi All. Following Guy's lead, with his reportedly great overnighter to the Munty pub, I was thinking of an overnight run to Nannup and a stay at the pub there one Saturday night. The route I have always taken is all on bitumen, via Quindanning, Darkan, Arthur River, Boyup Brook and Bridgetown. Happy to hear from anyone with suggestions for off road sections they may know of.
I was aiming for a Saturday in September, before the long weekend (say 16 September). After that we have the long weekend and Grand Final day on 30 September, and next weekend I am available is 21 October. Pretty free after that.
I have stayed at the pub before. It's a nice old pub. Food is good. Accommodation is traditional WA country pub single rooms with share dunny/ shower upstairs, at $65 per night. There are also motel style rooms at $120 per night or I am told they have a lounge, with a fire, in which you can throw down a swag. It's a really nice run down there.
Expressions of interest and how you feel about suggested dates welcome.

I am tending to believe that this fact in fact could be very officially correct....& that this could be a rather "Airhead friendly event"......Dust em off & bring em along......(Latte sipping vegetarians most welcome)

ps: to Brians....happy for any "offroad suggestions" I feel to express here...NO

Happy to do this 16th of September. Thus far though there's only 3 of us. If no more are interested I will postpone and float the idea again later. I'll put something on Facebook. Bb

Re: Overnight run to Nannup?
Hi All. Spoke to Steve (Dinga) at the weekend. He is keen if we shift date to- mid October so, proposed new date 21 October 2017. September was getting a little tight for people anyway, with long weekend etc.
I have checked with Nannup Pub (Tel.97561080) and they currently have 8 single rooms free upstairs. Alternatively there is a camping/ caravan park which, from memory, is close to the pub.
Meeting place is the Floopers Service Station at North Dandelup. Depart there 11 am. It's a about a 4 1/2 hour run there from North Dandelup with no stops and observing the speed limit. An 11 am departure should allow plenty of leeway for a stop at Quinndanning and at other points before Nannup. Obviously, I'm keen to get there well before the Roos start getting active and to give any campers a chance to get a tent pitched in daylight. Fuel available at Darkan, Boyup Brook and Bridgetown.
I have not proposed a club run before, so organisational capacity ends here.
Please advise if you are coming.
Cheers

Re: Overnight run to Nannup?
I'm a tad confused as to which date the Nannup overnighter is on. One entry says " proposed new date 21 October 2017. September was getting a little tight for people anyway, with long weekend etc. " The other entry says"The new date is 5 November 2017. September was getting a little tight for people anyway, with long weekend etc.
Book me in for a room please. Cheers

Davebeemer. Please call pub and book room yourself. Date has changed a few times to accommodate peoples unavailable dates. No further changes.
