Gingin, Bindoon and the Prince of Orange

Massive rollup today at Vic Park. Ross was just back from a trans Mongolian trip. Also spotted was Dinga and his belle, the other Ross, Jamie and his push bike, BJ and his café racer and Alex with his low mileage Honda Cub.

A lot of chat about the GS/TS Safari and how well organised it was.

Mackerel Eddie aka Red Emperor Eddie was complaining about the need to change his nick name as he keeps coming second in any thing involving the BMW Motorcycle Club. Bozo's suggestion of King Eddie II, was quickly amended to Eddie PoO....Eddie Prince of Orange.

Given the discussion about orange it was decided to visit Gingin and Bindoon. Nine riders and a pillion headed out via the airport to the Swan Valley. Eddie PoO, Jack, Peter + May, Kim, Rob, Braam, German Paul, Bozo and Swampy turned off onto Warbrook Road to get to Old Yanchep Road and go past Barbagello Raceway. We passed a Holden HQ with the big bonnet scoop heading for track time. The Swan Valley was at its vinaceous best and the weather was stunning.

The short section of Indian Ocean Highway was safely traversed but not before a large group of motorcyclists mingled with our group.

A regather at Military Road and all group members safely made it to the Liberty Service Station at Gingin. Bozo was confused that one of the group may have to be pulled out of a bog but counting by Peter determined that no one was missing. A short trip into Gingin town was followed by coffee and a mixture of toasted and baked items at the café.

Kim lead the successful mutiny against a further stop in Bindoon and after an enjoyable blast along Mooliabeenee Road and the Leschenaultia laden Crest Hill Road we were brought to a stop by a pack of hundreds of motorcyclists heading north.

At Bindoon the group split.

A very enjoyable day for a ride with wildflowers still out in abundance.

Thanks to Swampy for doing Tail End Charlie duties and not doing a DFS.

I am sure Eddie PoO will not be happy with his new nickname but we have to give him something to grumble about.
