September Long Weekend

I will be leading a ride to Lake Dumbleyung on the long weekend Sat 26th to Mon 28th September,
leaving Farrell's at 8:oo am Saturday, for a weekend (family) camp.
Cars welcome.
It is about a three and a half, to four hour trip, depending on coffee stops.
Supplies (liquid and other) available in Wagin and Dumbleyung

You will need to bring your own everything, and it will probably be cool to cold. Firewood will need to be gathered.

Coming in from Dumbleyung, there is about 8 k's of gravel, then a few k's of farm track. There are usually some slippery spots if the weather is wet, but you should have no trouble getting in on a road bike
Several people have indicated their interest.

As a lot of you know, this is a great spot to chill out for a day or two.

I will try to get a map up, for those who don't know the way.

Hope to see a crowd,

Lefty

I'll come along for the ride (to see what this Lake Dumbleyung is all about) and hang around for a while........

OK, I'll grab a couple of branches too!

Looks like we might drag the caravan and the kids along for saturday night, Ill try and jam some firewood in.
lefty, can you tie some pink tape or something to trees on the corners of the tracks, so we don't all end up at different places?

Exact co-ordinates 33 deg 21.453 S and 117 deg 39.252 E. Glorious weather conditions, good off road riding spots around lake. Bring a little bit of insect repellant for the odd mosquito.

A "Bit" of insect repellant??, I had to take the kids in for blood transfusions when we got back!!
It was good to see the "Hard Core" group come down on Sunday, we met them at Wagin, all geared up, tents, sleeping bags, food, survival kits...., but none of them were staying the night?
At least they looked the part!!!

Stay the night Richard? Don't be rediculous. You have seen the mosquitoes.
It was a practice run for Mt Elvire. See if I could pick up a fully laden bike, you know what I mean.
Great trip and enough time there for a cuppa while Lefty packed up. Barely any tarred roads where we went.

So... did you have to pick up your fully laden R1150GS Kev? Did ya bust a poopa valve?

And you 'hard core' guys need to work on your peripheral vision - late afternoon there were 2 GSA's + 1 GS + 1 KLR just off, maybe 5 metres, Albany Hwy north of North Bannister & parked at the end of a dirt track. We waved as you went past - not one of you noticed. Or were you guys just being cool?

Good to hear you're getting some miles under your belt before Mt Elvire Kev.

Cheers
