Sunday Ten Array Ride

Postby Bozo » Sun Feb 04, 2018 2:41 pm

A wide array of bikes turned up today including a 650 bound for Mongolia and an airhead sidecar rig. A rare sighting of Colin's RT, German Paul was sporting a broken wrist set in plaster that will keep him off motorcycles for a few weeks (push bike inflicted). A bit of discussion about the likelihood of a Honda selling on the BMW forum.

The group included Trevor who has travelled around the world blogging about his Super Tenere exploits. He was on a bright yellow Suzuki called "Yellow Peril".

An unusual type of ride with BJ going gravel and meeting up with the group at Serpentine and Dwellingup.

An array of ten bikes headed out through Lesmurdie to turn onto Canning Road. Not distracted by road closed signs that were yet to take effect they passed the Chilli festival at Araluen with a very enjoyable blip past Canning Dam without traffic to convoys of vehicles on Albany Highway. Ted, Tenere Trevor (Pie), Goldie, Wes, BillB, Colin, free itinerary tourist BJ, Rob, Bozo and Swampy made up the ten riders that travelled south on a glorious day.

Massive numbers of bikes were out and it was hard keeping track of who was in which group. Ted and Tenere Trevor left the group in the Darling Scarp.

At Serpentine Dam, Goldie accessed his comprehensive tool roll to fix a Harley. Swampy's Honda had been cleaned up to make it attractive for sale but unbeknown to all there was a section of Del Park Road under construction and the group was stuck behind a fuel truck and a convoy of cars. Poor Swampy's Honda had never seen so much dust in its life and will need intensive care to restore it to its superior condition. The Blue Wren was a welcome stop for Swampy to contemplate the cleaning ahead.

Our discussion about the new stadium, streakers and Choombies was interrupted by a stream of collectible cars passing by the café. Goldie was in his element being able to describe paint colours and models as they drove by.

All but Rob, Bozo and Swampy decide to do a BJ and make their own way home. The trio took Nanga Road and Nanga Brook Road to get to Waroona before heading back to Pinjarra and deviating by Patterson Road to Corio Road to get home. Another off road excursion was caused by roadworks.

Thanks to Swampy for being dust end Charlie.
