In the absence of his lordship, the Hon Bozoness, Swampy very earnestly pulled the usual gaggle together from a bustling Catalanos. There was quite a motley turnout, what with Jamie Sewell over from his building gig over east and Angela on her final swansong before the return back to the muddy island. We managed to cajole Ray on his egg yolk K75RT to come along and then Peter, very graciously slotted into Swampy's traditional place in the indian file. Stoy and German Paul made up the six, with me on the trusty brute, the 1988 K100RT sitting in the middle of the procession. When we arrived in Dwellingup, the troops clamoured strongly for an extension to the dusty town of Wahroona, which apparently has pies. There were a few terse moments whilst Swampy phoned up Mary, to get HQ approval, and after some Humming and Harring, we headed off. We saw no (live) roos or emus and encountered none of the Lycra club. The only thing untoward, was a whiff of burn off smoke at the back of Serpentine Dam.

Thanks to Swampy for a marvellous excursion and the riding conditions were sublime. I'm hoping that one of the usual forum visitors will post the photographs. John

A very pleasant clear ride thru the hills via Canning and Serpentine dams all the way thru too Dwellingup. Here the group split up with John, Paul and Ray returning to Perth for home duties.

I informed the wife that I would be late returning for a luncheon date with my son and his wife in Freo and was rapidly cast adrift into the flotsam by a very angry and annoyed spouse!!

Given notice that my presence would not be missed but watch out for an early Guy Fawkes night and one or two rockets, I decided in for a Penny in for a Pound so decided to travel the Nanga road too waroona for a pastry treat with Stoy and Peter.

After another pleasant break, Peter took the lead for a cruise around the Peel Inlet, Mandurah and return to our homes.

As I waited at the traffic lights in Byford with Stoy in rear guard I discovered the limits of my fuel tank had been exceeded and I only just managed to splutter in the nearest servo for a refreshing gulp of 98 proof.

336 ks showing on the trip meter and my guage was still showing quarter full so go figure? .........So from now on 300ks will be my limit.

Thanks for the very pleasant company today fellah's on a great run through the hills and burn a candle for me for when the wife gets home please!!
