Washing the Bikes

A surprisingly good turn up today given the wind and the rain. Tim and Jodee put in a rare appearance. The Ape had his sidecar to hold the road in the wind.

Drew, Ross, Peter, Wes and Bozo thought they could circumvent the rain by a loop through York, Northam and Clackline but struck light persistent showers for most of the way. Ross rostered off at Mundaring and the remaining four took a wash as they rode on West Talbot Road. There must have been very heavy rain as there was a lot of debris on the road and many water over road signs.

Taking Talbot Road to York and then through Spencers Brook on a trimmed tour taking Trimmer Road to the Great Eastern Highway and Bakers Hill. Parking the bikes under cover we refuelled with pastry products before taking a rain refreshed ride to Wundowie on Coates Road. It fined up for the run to Perth but rain delays from sedate riding meant that it was after three quarter time in the Eagles/Hawthorn match before settling on the couch. Fortunately the finish was great viewing.

Thanks to Peter for acting as tail end Charlie.

Even though parts of the ride were a sodden slog it was a joy to get a bit of sun and a chance for the wind to work its wonders on roads and clothing.
