Seeing as both Noel and Brian/5 fly out to Mongolia on Saturday for an epic bike ride from Mongolia to Russia, I wish them both a safe and happy journey, nil breakdowns and a quick transit over the Russian Border............Also be careful not to trip over the Steppes!!
I'm sure we all will be looking forward to hearing great yarns from this intrepid pair on their safe return to us and wish them well on a great adventure!!

"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
Very interesting riding. So far mostly dirt. Very little sand but every thing else. Country has has been magnificant. Food fantastic.
Interesting mix of riders.

Day One of our Mongolian trip was travelling Perth via Hong Kong to Ulaanbaatar. Vic & Jock had arrived a few days earlier to unpack the bikes and deliver them to the hotel which had a secure underground parking. We were picked at the airport with a coach and delivered to the hotel, then out to a restaurant for a meal. Some then partied on, I went back to sort out my bike spares parts and riding gear that travelled with the bike.
The 650 singles ready to start the Mongolian / Russian adventure.
Looks like you two have embarked on a really interesting ride. Enjoy.
All the best,
Raider
It doesn't seem like it, but we returned 8 weeks ago today. The entire trip is memorable and all who participated would certainly do it again and or venture further afield from where we travelled on this trip. There is another trip to Mongolia and Russia next year - 2019 - with a different route, and some of this years participants will be joining the 2019 ride. This was a very well organised ride with support vehicles, a Doctor, Cook and logistics crew, with a mixture of camping, motel and Gers. Highly recommended.
Aaron at Auto Classic showed me a trip video. He broke his ankle on that trip? I met the organiser at AC too... He mentioned a new route. Presumably that is the ride you were on?
