Undistinguished Gentlemen's Ride

Post by Bozo »

A surprisingly good turn up this Sunday with some fresh old faces, German Paul, Sleepy Paul, Davey Sprocket, Hills Ross, Hedland Ross and Bell Helmet Ross. Lots of distinguished gentlemen participants passed the breakfasting group with one multi-mirror mod scooter almost an accident as he turned in front of an oncoming vehicle.

Wes wanted to change out his low beam but ended up with more bits of bike coming out with the globe and will need to modify the globe clip.

Football was a hot topic with Hills Ross insisting that it was our black and white patriotic duty to finish off the pies at one of our regular bakeries.

Six undistinguished gentlemen headed out to tackle the pies. Wes, Hills Ross, Vic, His Royal Griceness, Swampy and Bozo headed out past the Airport and up Bushmead Road to take a loop through Sir John Forrest National Park but found the entrance closed. Just after the Lakes there was an excellent showing of wildflowers. The Uber Urban GS (not the Sub Urban GS) took a stretch of dirt and rejoined us at the intersection of Yarri and Talbot West Road. We turned onto Qualen West Road and headed to York. A brief stop and Bakers Hill was reached via Spencers Brook and Trimmer Road.

It seemed that half the country population thought it was their duty to macerate pies and a long queue delayed us completing the high calorific task.

A simple run home down Coates Road, Hawke Road, Burma Road, Bailup Road, Toodyay Road and Bunning Road.

The countryside is still stunning with lots of Leschenaultia (Cape Tulip) and Canola in full bloom.

The only precipitation was Swampy spilling water on himself and Wes washing his bike. Mainly a cloudless blue sky for a very enjoyable ride.

Thanks to swampy for running tail end Charlie.
