Ravenswood Rumble

A solid turn out for coffee this morning.
Good to see Kots out on his Rnine T and DFS back from an enforced diet of fush and chups.
Bill was demonstrating his mechanical skills removing a pin no longer held in place by a circlip and adjusting his bike's geometry.
12 riders and one pillion headed to Ravenswood by a circuitous route. Beemer Dave, DFS Dave, Bill and Trish, John, Mark, Robbie, Stoy, Ted, Peter, Liam, Bozo and Swampy convoyed their way up the scarp to Lesmurdie and then along Canning Road to Karagullen. Cyclists were thick past Araluen and Canning Dam but fortunately were going in the other direction.
A misplaced key at Serpentine Dam, quickly found by Beemer Dave, almost caused grief. Kingsbury Drive past Karnet was a bit dusty with the shoulders being reconstructed. Swampy tried to take over leading the ride by taking a short cut on Del Park Road. A run backwards down North Spur was pleasant with no animals, traffic or cyclists.
Ravenswood was heaving with the Hot Rod Rumble and the chaos split the group up. There were hundreds of hot rods, motorcycles, classic cars and fifties dressed patrons. The hotel surrounds were packed with stalls and there was a live band (if Lefty was on we missed his gig).
All bar Swampy, John and Beemer Dave managed to gather at the waters edge for a meal involving some form of chips. Ted and Robbie took independent itineraries home leaving seven to take Patterson Road, Corio Road, Hopeland Road, Rapids Road and Kargotich Road home.
All straight forward with lots of bends and no issues other than Ted needing a push.
Thanks to Swampy and Peter for running tail end Charlie.
A surprisingly free flowing day apart from the 500 metres around the Ravensood Hotel and great weather for a ride.
