Going out of our way to avoid school holiday traffic

A healthy turn out today with Kots bringing along an 850 GS.
In contrast to the very manageable ride group last week there were 14 starters for a run to Dwellingup.
Goldie, Brian5, Wightman, Jack, Kim, Herman, Wes, David, Bill + Trish, Peter, Vic, Mark, Swampy and Bozo took a back roads run to Dwellingup. The busy Welshpool Road was a distant memory as we enjoyed the shade and corners of Canning Road, Gardiner Road, McNess Drive and Canning Dam Road. The run down Albany Highway was obstructed by a convoy of SUVs travelling at 90kmh. Jarrahdale Road enabled us to open the throttles again before a short break at Serpentine Dam.
Lots of motorcycles out enjoying the weather. The uneventul run to Del Park Road hit a speed hump with Wightman's immobiliser activated by a rough section of road. The BMW surgeon was preparing for open heart surgery when he found that turning the bike key off and on then reswiping the immobiliser got his air head breathing again.
The chequered group were able to squeeze around a Blue Wren cafe table, covered by a chequered cloth, to argue whether carrot cake had been ordered with cream or without.
A run down Nanga Road and Nanga Brook Road got the group to Waroona and a busy South West Highway. A short run battling the traffice was ameliorated by deviating onto the empty Coolup Road East and Burnside Road. Taking the Pinjarra Dwellingup Road to Pinjarra we again headed for the back roads to take Paterson Road, Corio Road, Hopelands Road, Rapids Road and Lightbody Road to get to Kargotich Road.
At Thomas Road the group split up to fight their way through the traffic home.
Only on the way home did the temperature get above 30 degrees. Great to get a dry ride in after Easter.
Thanks to Swampy and Peter for superb tail end Charlie duties.
