Friday Ride

RDO yesterday so took a ride up through the hills, Mundaring Weir and stopped for a coffee at the Lakes turn off.
I met a chap there by the name of Mike Fane who was taking a demo bike for a test run. It was a 1250 GS Executive.
I mentioned I was in our renowned and famous club and he commenced pumping me for information and opinion between the R1250 GS and the R1250RT as he could not decide which was better for his needs.
An interesting chap who is a business man, and also a pilot and inventor who is in the process off developing a Skype Aircraft style Hovercraft which he claims will fly 20 feet over the surface of water.
Funding has been approved from an overseas company apparently.
We spent over an hour talking bikes etc. and I just may have convinced him to test ride a R1250RS as it may suit his needs a lot better for his requirements and that he should come down to Cat's tomorrow if he should require other opinions.
So watch out Scruff tomorrow if he turns up at Catalano's as he may well be pumping you for information?
I eventually managed to arrive in Toodyay via York around lunchtime and had just sat down when Rob Kelly lobbed up on his dust covered R1150GS. Rob is in the process of doing up an old BM he recently bought to his own design which should be interesting to see when the project is completed.
We spent a pleasant hour talking all things bikes before Rob opted for home via more dirt roads and I headed back via Toodyay Road, Stoneville, Mundaring Weir and home arriving back at 1500hrs.
All in all a good day was had although the wind was very gusty during the morning.
Swampy
